Uzbekistan, UAE business circles mull co-op development

Representatives of business circles of Uzbekistan and the United Arab Emirates outlined the specific areas of trade, economic and investment cooperation at a business forum held on June 5, press service of the organizer of the Forum, Chamber of Commerce and Industry of Uzbekistan reported.

The event took place in the framework of the visit UAE business delegation to Uzbekistan headed by the chairman of the Chamber of Commerce and Industry (CCI) of Dubai Abdulrahman Saif Al Ghurair.

The delegation includes leaders and representatives of private investment firms, free industrial zones, industrial parks, companies engaged in oil and gas, petrochemical, power, automotive industries, as well as in the fields of real estate, construction, information and communication technologies.

According to Dubai CCI Chairman, Uzbekistan and the UAE have great potential for joint implementation of major investment projects, including in the areas of tourism, logistics and real estate, and for the growth of the bilateral trade.

Intensification of trade and economic relations with the UAE is a priority for Uzbekistan, chairman of the Chamber of Commerce of Uzbekistan Alisher Shaykhov said.

During the event, the parties exchanged views on the further development of the cooperation in trade, construction and chemical industries, in the field of small business and entrepreneurship, automotive and information technologies, and on a greater involvement of UAE companies in the privatization process.

In particular, the interest of entrepreneurs in Dubai have was attracted by the possibilities of implementing joint projects in Navoi free industrial economic zone and Jizak special industrial zone.
