Azerbaijan`s duo wins silver at World Rowing Cup II

Azerbaijan`s duo Alexander Alexandrov and Boris Yotov have won silver medal in the 2,000 meter M2X race of the World Rowing Cup II in Aiguebelette, France.
The duet that won silver at the European championship on June 1 struggled with 21 rowers in France on June 19-22.
The World Rowing Cup is an annual series of three regattas that act as a lead-up to the World Rowing Championships. It is held with racing a progression system from heats through to finals.
Racing at the World Rowing Cup includes the 14 Olympic boat classes and a selection of International boat classes. Para-rowing is contested at some World Cups. Each Olympic boat class earns points based on the finishing order.
Rowing developed quickly in Azerbaijan with the establishment of the National Rowing Federation (AMAF) in December 2006.
Being a member of the International Rowing Federation (FISA) and the International Canoe Federation (ICF), the AMAF participates in various international competitions and European and world championships.
