National taekwondo fighters claim six medals at Serbia Open [PHOTO]

Azerbaijan’s national taekwondo fighters successfully performed at the Serbia Open Tournament.
The taekwondo fighters won a clutch of 6 medals at the tournament held in Belgrade, Azertac reported.
Azay Ganbarli (45kg) won the gold medal, while Bahruz Guluzade claimed the silver in the same weight class.
Gasim Magomedov (55kg), Alasgar Aliyev (68kg) also took silver medals, while Ali Mammadov (59kg) and Aliya Zeynalova (44kg) earned the bronze.
Taekwondo fighters will next vie for medals of the World Taekwondo Junior Championships to be held in Canada from November 16 to 20.
The tournament will bring together more than 800 athletes from 100 countries.
Taekwondo is one of the most popular sports in Azerbaijan. The National Taekwondo Federation has trained many prominent athletes since its founding in 1992.
Many of those athletes now enjoy international recognition.
The Federation’s training facility houses new, state-of-the-art training equipment and has a proud history of bringing up more than 500 black belt recipients and athletes.
