Kazakhstan may unite World Petroleum Congress with EXPO 2017

In case if Astana wins the bid to host the 22nd World Petroleum Congress in 2017, the event may combined with EXPO-2017 international exhibition, which will be held in Astana, Deputy Chairman of Kazenergy Association Jambulat Sarsenov told Trend.

He reminded that Kazakhstan's competitors in the contest for the right to host the congress are Houston (USA), Istanbul (Turkey) and Copenhagen (Denmark).

The final decision on the conference place will be made on October 23, 2013 by a vote in Calgary (Canada).

Sarsenov also said that Kazakhstan intends to intensify preparations for the contest in order to win the right to host 22nd World Petroleum Congress in 2017.

The World Petroleum Congress is held every three years. Moscow was the winner of the right to host the 21st World Petroleum Congress, which will be held in 2014.
