Asian states main exporters of goods to Iran
Five countries' exports accounted for 64 per cent of Iran's total imports in the first two months of the current year which started on March 21.
China (1.075 billion dollars or 18.89 per cent), the United Arab Emirates (1.011 billion dollars or 17.77 per cent), India (563 million dollars or 9.89 per cent), South Korea (525 million dollars or 9.22 per cent) and Turkey (476 million dollars or 8.36 per cent) are the five mentioned countries, ISNA news agency reported.
Iran imported a total of 4.173 million tons of goods worth $5.692 billion dollars in the above mentioned period which is 33.86 and 32.47 per cent less than in the same period of the previous year in terms of weight and value, respectively.
Asia with 73.6 was the main source of Iran's imports, while the other continent's shares were as follows: Europe 24.95 per cent, Americas 1.06 per cent, Africa 0.9 per cent and southern Pacific 0.3 per cent.
It was announced earlier that five countries also imported 80.16 per cent of Iran's total non-oil exports in terms of weight and 69.21 per cent in terms of value in the first two months of the current year which started on March 21.
China, Iraq, the United Arab Emirates, Afghanistan and India are the five mentioned countries, ISNA reported.
It is while in the same period of the previous year, Iraq, China, the United Arab Emirates, Afghanistan and India were the main importers of Iranian non-oil goods, respectively.
Iran's exports to China and India rose by 48.11 and 31.48 per cent respectively in the first two months of the current year. Meanwhile, Tehran's exports to Iraq, the United Arab Emirates and Afghanistan faced a 3.83, 6.44, and 6.20 per cent decrease respectively.
Asia with 90.92 per cent was the main destination for Iranian goods, while the other continents' shares were as the follows: Africa 4.40 per cent, Europe 2.23 per cent, Americas 0.34 per cent, and the southern Pacific 0.06 per cent.
IRNA news agency reported on March 26 that Asia accounted for 92 per cent of Iran's total exports in the previous calendar year which ended on March 20.
Iraq, China, the United Arab Emirates, Afghanistan, India, Turkey, South Korea, Turkmenistan, Pakistan and Azerbaijan were the main destinations for the Iranian goods, IRNA reported. Europe also accounted for five per cent of Iran's exports.
Iran had non-oil trade with 196 countries in the previous year.
The country's trade with 97 countries such as the United Arab Emirates, South Korea, Switzerland, Turkey and China was negative in the above mentioned period, ISNA reported on March 6.
Tehran's trade balance was positive with 99 countries, including Iraq, Afghanistan, India, Turkmenistan and Pakistan.
