Ireli Public Union elects new chairman

Ireli Public Union elected new chairman during its 4th Reporting-Electing Conference on June 27.
Mirhasan Seyidov was elected for the post for the next two years by majority of votes.
Seyidov is a Deputy Chairman of the National Assembly of the Azerbaijani Youth Organization.
Earlier, the organization was led by Rauf Mardiev, who decided not to run for the post during the conference.
About 300 members of Ireli Public Union attended the conference including Youth and Sports Minister Azad Rahimov, Head of the Public and Political Issues Department of Azerbaijani Presidential Administration Ali Hasanov, Chairman of the Youth Association of the ruling party New Azerbaijan Seymur Orujov, and Chairman of the National Council of Youth Organizations of Azerbaijan Shahin Seyidzade and others.
Hasanov said in his speech that the main expectation of the state from the youth is a sense of statehood and patriotism.
"There are over 300 youth organizations in the country and they play a basic role in organizing the lives of the young people in national, cultural and political public spheres," he said. "We can say with full responsibility that our youth organizations' resources, projects and programs have been significantly improved and developed. Along with taking active part in the social life of the country, they voluntarily support the country's policies in various spheres."
He expressed hope that the new chairman of Ireli Public Union can strength the ties with state bodies, and play a special role in lives of thousands' of young people who are members of the organization.
Newly elected Chairman Mirhasan Seyidov spoke about his priorities. He said Ireli Public Union will turn into an organization of the Azerbaijani youth and will develop young people's role in the development of the youth policy.
