Four arrested after mass conflict in Azerbaijani region
Deputy head of Musavat party Tofig Yagublu and co-chairman of Real movement Ilgar Mammadov were arrested in Azerbaijan, the Prosecutor General's Office said on Monday.
They are accused of inciting aimed to impairing social and political stability during the events in Ismayilli.
According to the decision of the Nasimi District Court, Tofig Yagublu, Ilgar Mammadov and Ismayilli residents Mirkazym Abdullayev and Elshan Ismayilli were arrested under this case who are charged under Articles 233 (organization and participation in activities violating public order) and 315.2 (resistance or violence against government officials).
A joint statement of Interior Ministry and Prosecutor General's Office released earlier, stated that the investigation ascertained that arriving in Ismayilli on January 24, Tofig Yagublu and Ilgar Mammadov called Ismayilli residents to actions impairing social and political stability, such as resistance to the police, insubordination and blocking traffic.
