Belgian parliamentarian informed of post-conflict realities in region

The region of Azerbaijan has seen a great deal of conflict in recent years, and the aftermath of this conflict has left many realities emerging in the region. During a visit to the Milli Majlis, the Chamber of Representatives of the Belgian Federal Parliament, Michael Freilich, a Member of the Chamber of Representatives of the Belgian Federal Parliament, was briefed on these realities by a group of Azerbaijani deputies, Azernews reports.

Kamal Jafarov, Head of the working group of the Milli Majlis on inter-parliamentary relations with Belgium, spoke of Azerbaijan's interest in developing relations with European countries, including the Kingdom of Belgium. He also highlighted the development of relations between the legislative bodies of both countries and the role of friendship groups in terms of the expansion of cooperation.

The Azerbaijani MPs then gave insight into Azerbaijan's victory in the 44-day Patriotic War and liberation of its lands, as well as the steps taken to establish peace in the region. Sevinj Fataliyeva, Anatoly Rafailov, and Nigar Arpadarai briefed the guest on the realities emerging in the region during the post-conflict period and peace negotiations, as well as the multiculturalism and tolerance traditions of Azerbaijan. They also provided insight into the large-scale ongoing restoration and construction works in the liberated lands of Azerbaijan and touched upon the issue of reintegration of citizens of Armenian origin living in the Karabakh region.

As a Jew, Member of the Belgian Federal Parliament Michael Freilich expressed satisfaction with the tolerant society where all religions are highly respected. Freilich called for strengthening bilateral relations based on mutual and common interests in the fields of energy, trade, and multiculturalism.
