Opening ceremony of a sports ground was held in the new part of the Seaside Boulevard on the initiative of Vice-President of the Heydar Aliyev Foundation, Founder and Head of the IDEA Public Union, Leyla Aliyeva.

The ceremony was held on the occasion of the Day of Physical Education and Sports, celebrated on March 5.

Leyla Aliyeva and the participants of the ceremony got acquainted with the conditions created on the sports ground.

The sports ground is the first site constructed within the framework of the project “Street Workout” (street training), implemented by the IDEA Public Union in conjunction with the Youth Movement JAVAN. Given the special standards of “Street Workout”, all conditions are created on this site for athletes and persons with disabilities for their comfortable train.

The main goal of the project is to encourage a healthy lifestyle, and to support the sports policy in Azerbaijan. In general, the spiritual and physical health of young people as well as the protection of the environment and the promotion of sustainable development are among the priority activities of the IDEA Public Association.

The sports ground will make an important contribution to the increase of mass activity in of “Street Workout” in country, which has become increasingly popular around the world.

In future, it is also planned to create appropriate sports grounds in other parts of the country.
