Azerbaijan, UK explore prospects for closer cultural relations
Azerbaijan`s Minister of Culture and Tourism Abulfaz Garayev, who is participating in the World Travel Market, the leading global event for the travel industry, in London, has met his UK counterpart Edward Henry Butler Vaizey, Azerbaijani state news agency AzerTac reported.
The parties discussed prospects for developing bilateral cultural relations.
Vaizey praised Azerbaijan's development, saying he was impressed by the country's achievements during his visit to Baku to join an information and communication technologies exhibition, BakuTel, which is a four-day event for ICT majors taking place this week.
Garayev hailed the two countries` cultural cooperation and recalled the performance of the London Philharmonic Orchestra at the 2nd international music festival in the Azerbaijani northern city of Gabala.
The Azerbaijani minister also invited his counterpart to participate in the 2nd World Forum on Intercultural Dialogue to be held in Baku next year.
