WORLD HARMONY in Baku

Baku will host the International Contest of Young Performers of Classical Music and Folklore "WORLD HARMONY” on April 2-8, Trend Life reports citing the press service of the Baku City Main Department of Culture.
The competition will be held with the joint organization of the Interstate Fund for Humanitarian Cooperation of the CIS Member States, the Ministry of Culture of Azerbaijan, the Main Department of Culture of Baku and the Gara Garayev Central School of Arts.
Competition "WORLD HARMONY" will be held in the following nominations: solo - piano, string instruments, wind and percussion instruments, folk instruments; vocal - academic, national, pop; dance (solo and ensemble), instrumental ensembles (classical and folk), vocal ensembles (academic, folk and pop), choral and dance groups.
Representatives of Azerbaijan, Belarus, Georgia, Kazakhstan, Uzbekistan, Russia and Ukraine are expected to take part in the competition, which will be held among various age categories.
Participants will be judged by a competent jury composed of experts from Azerbaijan, Belarus, France, Georgia, Israel, Kazakhstan, Lithuania, Hungary, Russia and Ukraine.
Pedagogues and students of the Musical Lyceum of St. Petersburg will perform at the Muslim Magomayev Azerbaijan State Academic Philharmonic Society on April 4th, and a gala concert and award ceremony will be held on April 7th.
