TURKSOY`s Youth Chamber Orchestra performs in London

The Youth Chamber Orchestra of TURKSOY has performed in London, UK.

The concert called “Sounds of Eurasia” was dedicated to the 25th anniversary of the independence of Azerbaijan, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Uzbekistan and Turkmenistan. Their repertoire included exhilarating works by Turkic, European composers, Azertac reported.

The concerts of the Youth Chamber Orchestra of TURKSOY featuring artists from Azerbaijan, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Uzbekistan, Turkey, and Turkmenistan aroused keen interest among the audience.

The Chamber Orchestra also gave concert at the Sheldonian theatre of Oxford University.

The International Youth Chamber Orchestra, founded with the contribution of the International Organization of Turkic Culture TURKSOY in 2010, gave its first concert in Kecioren Ankara with its young talents from Azerbaijan, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Uzbekistan, Turkey, Turkmenistan, Bashkortostan (RF), Tatarstan (RF) and South Korea.

The International Youth Chamber Orchestra of TURKSOY enchanted the audience with its repertoire featuring famous works by both Western and contemporary Turkish composers.

TURKSOY, also known as the UNESCO of the Turkic World was established in 1993 with the founding agreement of the Kazakh, Kyrgyz, Uzbek, Turkmen and Turkish and Azerbaijani Ministers of Culture. Later on, the Turkish Republic of Northern Cyprus, the Republics subject to the Russian Federation, Tatarstan, Bashkortostan, Altai, Sakha Yakutia, Tyva and Khakassia also joined the organization along with Gagauzia (Moldova) as member states with an observer status.

For more than 20 years now, TURKSOY has been carrying out various activities aimed to strengthen the ties of brotherhood and solidarity among Turkic peoples and transmit their cultural heritage to future generations.
