There is sweet news for chocolate lovers in Azerbaijan on the background of chocolate price up in Europe – a new factory for the production of industrial chocolate will be opened in Azerbaijan.

Azerbaijani group of companies Azersun Holding will launch the factory in Baku in 2015, said Savas Uzan, CEO of the holding.

"The factory for the production of industrial chocolate is currently under construction in Baku. Its products will be supplied to companies for the production of consumer chocolate,” he said.

Moreover, the factory will engage in the production of sunflower halva, Turkish delight, jellies, and other beloved sweet things.

Meanwhile, expert Samir Aliyev expects the effects of the Swiss chocolate price rise on domestic market. Growing franc is most likely to affect the prices of products imported from that country including watches and chocolate in Azerbaijani market, he said.

Azersun Holding, established in 1991, is a leading company producing food products in Azerbaijan.

Opening of such productions gives a strong impetus to the patisserie and food production development in Azerbaijan. As Azerbaijan is famous for its traditional sweets and big love to candies, these production will always find consumers here.
