Azerbaijan to export local wine, nuts to foreign countries

SIAL Paris, one of the largest food exhibitions in Europe, has ended in Paris. The national stand was popular and the exhibition brought Azerbaijan worthy contracts on the supply of local goods to foreign countries.

Products of 23 Azerbaijani companies were represented at the Made in Azerbaijan stand, Azerbaijan’s Economy Ministry said in a message on October 30.

National products attracted the attention of visitors and foreign companies by its quality and taste just like at previous exhibitions.

As part of the exhibition, a preliminary agreement was reached on the export of wine and other alcoholic beverages of the Azerbaijani company A+Co to Norway, as well as export of the products of the “Goygol Wine Factory” to the U.S., Cambodia and China. Negotiations were held on the export of products of Azerbaijani companies Aznar and Agro-Azerinvest to Brazil, Ukraine and Germany.

Tovuz Baltiya company conducted negotiations with companies from Japan, Italy, China, Romania and Cambodia to export its products. In addition, the Azerbaijani company Mars-FK reached an agreement on exporting 36 tons of nuts to France, 18 tons to Djibouti and also 18 tons of nuts per week to Poland.

Meanwhile, Kaslar company has reached an agreement to export 40 tons of nuts to Poland. In the near future, the export of products to the mentioned countries will be launched.

In addition, an agreement was reached between the Azerbaijani company Eco-Dry and Al-Camil company from Djibouti to sign an agreement on the export of apples. The company Azerstar, which produces fruits and vegetables, reached an agreement to export its products to Russia, Italy and France, while AZ-Granata company reached an agreement to export pomegranate juice to Israel, the U.S., and pomegranate wine to Spain.

Balkhurma company continues negotiations with wholesale companies in France, Portugal, Netherlands, Germany, Switzerland and Romania, as well as with Horeca chain of stores operating in Italy, Dubai, Egypt and Japan, for the export of its products.

The exhibition in Paris was attended by 7,020 companies from 109 countries.

Participation in the major food exhibitions is a valuable tool for promoting national products and increasing non-oil export. Export missions is another way of attracting interest of foreign companies to the local products.

Earlier, the products of the Azerbaijani companies included in the export mission caused great interest among Mongolian companies too.

Azerbaijani companies Absheron-Sharab, A+Co, Merit Brand, Sharg Ulduzu, Agro-Azerinvest, Aspi Agro, Azeri met with the largest distributor of wine products in Mongolia - World Wine LLC and Sansar chain stores. Primary agreements were reached on the export of Azerbaijani wines to Mongolia, as well as on the export of products between the Azerbaijani company Aspi Agro and the Mongolian company World Wine.

An agreement on the sale of plant extract was also reached between the Azerbaijani company Herba Flora and the Mongolian company Vitalit Invest.

The Azerbaijani company Konfirom and the Mongolian companies Shizhirzhin Group, Altan Jolo Impex, McN Export negotiated on the export of confectionery products, Gilan FMCG and the Mongolian Vertus Group and supermarket chain Sansar - on the export of fruit juices and canned products.

The opening of trading houses is one of the significant events carried out within the framework of expanding the export of Azerbaijani products and promoting the Made in Azerbaijan brand.

Earlier, agreements were reached with a Chinese company selling alcoholic beverages, as they liked Azerbaijani wines for their taste and prices. As a result, Azerbaijani pavilion was opened in the Chinese city of Luzhou in late September.

Today, trading houses of Azerbaijan are open in Belarus, Latvia and Ukraine. Until the end of 2018, it is planned to open trade and wine houses in the UAE, Russia, Poland and Kazakhstan.
