Provocation in media before European Games turns out a lie

On June 11, in anticipation of the European Games in Baku, many media outlets once again spread false news about the athletes attending the competitions.

Athletes from the national teams of Russia and Ukraine started a fight in Baku, according to widespread misinformation in the media.

However, an official denial of this misinformation appeared in the evening.

The head of the Russian delegation at the European Games in Baku Igor Kazikov denied the news about the fight between the Russian and Ukrainian athletes, Tass Russian news agency reported.

“Nothing like this has happened,” said Kazikov.

Baku 2015 is the first-ever European Games, an exciting and innovative multi-sport event for the continent that will take place on June 12-28, 2015.

There will be a total of 20 sports at Baku 2015: 16 Olympic sports and four non-Olympic sports. More than 6,000 athletes from across Europe will be representing their nations over 17 days of competition.

Baku was awarded the games by the European Olympic Committees (EOC) in December 2012.
