Azerbaijan talks on threat of bird flu in country

Bird flu outbreaks in Iran and Iraq pose no threat for Azerbaijan, Yolchu Hanveli, head of the press service of the State Veterinary Service under Azerbaijan’s Agriculture Ministry, told Trend.
He said that Azerbaijan has banned the imports of live poultry, poultry products, chickens and hatching eggs from Iran since spring last year.
“As for the outbreak of bird flu in Iraq, Azerbaijan doesn’t import poultry and poultry products from this country,” Hanveli said.
