Uzbekistan seeking to buy Azerbaijani defense products

An Uzbek official has expressed his country's interest in buying the defense and dual-use products of Azerbaijan defense industry.
Uzbek First Deputy Defense Minister, Chief of the General Staff of the Armed Forces, Major-General Shavkat Normatov made the statement in a meeting with Defense Industry Minister Yaver Jamalov on January 29.
During the meeting, the two sides also discussed prospects of cooperation in the field of defense industry and issues of mutual interest.
General Narmatov also visited the facilities of Azerbaijan defense industry and get more familiar with the production process.
Uzbek Ambassador to Azerbaijan Sherzod Faiziev attended the meeting.
Normatov's official visit to Azerbaijan will last until January 30.
During his visit, Normatov has already met with Defense Minister Zakir Hasanov, Deputy Minister of Defense of Azerbaijan, Chief of General Staff, Colonel General Najmeddin Sadigov.
The defense ministries of both countries discussed mutual cooperation and regional security in a meeting in Baku.
