Kazakh tenge depreciates by 7%
Kazakhstan's national currency rate depreciated against the USD by more than seven percent - from 340.01 tenge / US dollar on January 1 to 364.79 tenge / US dollar as of February 1, the Kazakh National Bank said.
The minimum rate of the Kazakh national currency was fixed on January 22 - 383.91 tenge / US dollar. The tenge rate slightly changed later.
Kazakhstan's national currency exchange rate appreciated up to 361.42 tenge per $1 at a trading session of the Kazakhstan Stock Exchange (KASE) Feb. 1 compared to 365.23 tenge per $1 at a trading session Jan. 29.
Kazakhstan's national currency exchange rate hit 186 tenge per $1 in July 2015. But the rate began declining after the National Bank switched to a floating rate in August.
