The Central Election Commission has made a decision to terminate Mehriban Aliyeva’s parliamentary powers due to her appointment as Azerbaijan’s First Vice-President
Azerbaijan’s First Lady, President of the Heydar Aliyev Foundation Mehriban Aliyeva was elected as an MP in the parliamentary elections in 2015.
On February 21, 2017, President Ilham Aliyev signed an order to appoint Mehriban Aliyeva as First Vice-President of the Republic of Azerbaijan.
