Ambassador: Russian-Azerbaijani trade may reach $3bn
The trade turnover between Azerbaijan and Russia may reach $3 billion this year, Russian Ambassador to Azerbaijan Vladimir Dorokhin said during a meeting with Azerbaijani journalists, Trend news agency reported.
Dorokhin appreciated the role of the media in strengthening bilateral relations between Russia and Azerbaijan, which have reached the level of strategic partnership.
"Political life is being intensified in Russia," he said. "Civil society is being developed. Social achievements that have been recently attained are being preserved. All of this is reflected in the Azerbaijani press."
Dorokhin said he does not always agree with the Azerbaijani media.
"But we accept the principle of freedom of speech and the press and treat reports with calmness, the main thing is to respect the facts," he said.
