The first Azerbaijani cycle traveler, Ramil Ziyadov, started a cycling tour through his home country from Barda on October 17.

"This time I will make a small biking tour from Barda, through Yevlakh, Sheki, Gakh, and Zagatala to the Georgian border, traveling 300 km, including the highlands of 3,000 km heights, dedicating this action to the National Flag Day of Azerbaijan," Ramil said.

Azerbaijan celebrates the date on November 9.

Recently Ramil, a 35-year-old extreme sport lover, covered over 15,000 kilometers in six months, cycling through five countries -- Russia, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Uzbekistan, and China -- and came back home on October 2.

His trip was not only a challenge; Ramil also had set out a goal to present to foreigners Azerbaijan, its achievements, development and its acute problem, the Nagorno-Karabakh conflict with Armenia.

At present, Ramil plans to continue his journey with a new two-year-long trip to see Europe and Africa on January 21.
