National GM wins bronze in Italy

Azerbaijani GM Azer Mirzayev has claimed a bronze medal at the 38th Arco international chess festival held in Italy, Azertac reported.
The tournament “A” brought together 114 chess players from Italy, Azerbaijan, Denmark, England, Austria, Germany, Norway, Russia, Slovenia, Ukraine, and Sweden.
Russian GM Nikita Petrov became the winner of the tournament.
Azer Mirzoev’s results in international tournaments include 1st at Elgoibar 2006, 1st at San Sebastián 2009, 1st at Calvi 2010, 1st–2nd with Omar Almeida Quintana at Albacete 2010.
The national GM won the Stadium Casablanca tournament twice.
He took the 1st place in Figueres tournament (2012) and the 7th Beirut International open in 2014.
