Azerbaijan's energy giant SOCAR will put into operation a new offshore platform in the Oil Rocks field in the Azerbaijani sector of the Caspian Sea in 2014.
The company reported that the 602A platform will be designed for drilling 14 wells and installed at a depth of 25 meters. The platform will consist of two parts, a six-block production part and a two-block residential area. Every day, it is planned to extract 140 tons of oil and 9200 cubic meters of gas from the platform.
SOCAR includes Azneft (onshore and offshore oil and gas production), Azerkimya (chemical industry) and Azerigas (gas distribution) production associations, as well as a number of processing enterprises, service enterprises and institutions engaged in geophysical and drilling operations.
