President Aliyev meets Kazakh counterpart

Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev, who is on a working visit to Astana to attend the Summit of the Cooperation Council of Turkic-Speaking States, has met his Kazakh counterpart Nursultan Nazarbayev on September 11.
President Nazarbayev thanked President Aliyev for the visit and participation at the solemn meeting devoted to the 550th anniversary of the Kazakh Khanate, the official website of the Kazakh leader reports.
Nazarbayev further said that the fraternal peoples of Kazakhstan and Azerbaijan have centuries-old ties of fraternal friendship.
"Mutual trust characterizes our relationships. Your each visit to Kazakhstan is a new chapter in cooperation between our countries. Currently, the world economy is going through difficult times, but even under these conditions our countries are conducting a comprehensive search for new points of contact in the trade and economic fields," he noted.
President Aliyev, in turn, congratulated the Kazakh people with the 550th anniversary of the Kazakh Khanate.
"Your today's statement at the solemn meeting, analysis of the historical past and the present development of Kazakhstan once again prove that the success of your country has very deep national historical and roots," he said.
The Cooperation Council of Turkic Speaking States (Turkic Council) was established in 2009 as an international intergovernmental organization, with the overarching aim of promoting comprehensive cooperation among Turkic-speaking countries. Its four founding member is Azerbaijan.
