Azerbaijan will present its own antivirus version in 2015.

The Computer Emergency Response Team (CERT), functioning under the State Agency for Special Communications and Information Security of the Special State Protection Service of Azerbaijan, is completing the final development process of an antivirus called “Malware Report”.

At present, the basic version of the product is under preparation and will be available for users in early 2015. "Malware Report" will be available free at cert.gov.az.

The program will allow to redirect malicious and suspicious files to the laboratory of CERT (Malware Lab), where they will be analyzed. After that, the users will receive the report.

One of the advantages of the software solution will be informing users about threats and vulnerabilities, as well as providing them with the necessary information to counter external threats.

In future, it is expected that the software will contain all the features of a full-fledged anti-virus software.

Earlier, CERT reported about reactivated distribution of the infected files by e-mails in the Azerbaijani segment of the Internet. The spamming is made from a variety of sources in different countries and contains infected archive files of the following names: "my_photo.zip", "iphone_photo.zip", "photo.zip", "transact_store.zip".

CERT warns about the need to delete such emails without opening them, otherwise, they can endanger the computer database and network infrastructure of enterprises and companies.

CERT was established in March 2013 to protect users from online threats, malware cyber-attacks and other adversities.
