Judicial cooperation was in focus of Azerbaijan – Ukraine talks

Azerbaijan-Ukraine judicial cooperation was a key topic of the
discussions held during Baku visit of Ukrainian delegation led by
deputy chairman of the Supreme Court, Valentin Barbara.
During a meeting at Azerbaijan`s Justice Ministry, Deputy
Minister Azer Jafarov briefed the Ukrainian delegation on friendly
and partnership relationship between the two countries. He noted
about the role of the two countries` presidents in development of
bilateral relationship.
Jafarov said that fruitful cooperation is developed both on a
bilateral basis and within multilateral framework between two
states. He noted that the agreement on cooperation signed between
Justice Ministries of Azerbaijan and Ukraine would contribute to
expansion of bilateral judicial ties.
The Azerbaijani deputy minister also spoke of judicial reforms carried out in the country.
In turn, Valentin Barbara informed about the judicial system of
Ukraine, stressing the importance of exchange of experience for
both countries.
On the same day, the Ukrainian delegation met with Chairman of the
Azerbaijan Constitutional Court Farhad Abdullayev.
At the meeting, Abdullayev spoke about the history of relationship
between Azerbaijan and Ukraine, noting that due to efforts of
presidents of the two countries, relations between the two
countries had reached the level of strategic partnership.
"Numerous documents, signed during high-level reciprocal visits,
have created solid legal basis for expansion of cooperation between
the two countries," he said , while appearing the relations between
Constitutional and Supreme courts of Azerbaijan and Ukraine.
Abdullayev also briefed the delegation on the ongoing judicial
reforms in Azerbaijan and activity of the Constitutional Court.
The Ukrainian side also praised the ongoing development process in
Azerbaijan in all spheres.
Valentin Barbara expressed confidence that such meetings create great opportunities for development of cooperation.
Ukrainian ambassador to Azerbaijan Oleksandr Mischenko attended
the meeting.
Furthermore, chairman Azerbaijani Supreme Court Ramiz Rzayev
received the Ukrainian delegation.
Rzayev also noted the importance of reciprocal visits by the
Ukrainian and Azerbaijani presidents, agreements signed between the
two countries, saying that they had opened great opportunities for
strengthening bilateral cooperation.
He said that the relations between legal and judicial systems of
Azerbaijan and Ukraine had entered a new stage. He appreciated the
Ukrainian delegation's visit to Azerbaijan as a contribution to the
development of cooperation between judicial bodies of the two
countries.
Informing the meeting participants with the activity of the Supreme
Court of Ukraine, Barbara expressed confidence that judicial
cooperation between the two countries would further develop.
