Azerbaijani president attends award-giving ceremony at National Olympic Committee

The National Olympic Committee has summed up results of the 2012 year with athletes and coaches being awarded for their contribution to sports development, AzerTac state news agency reported.
President of Azerbaijan, President of the National Olympic Committee Ilham Aliyev and his spouse Mehriban Aliyeva attended the ceremony.
The Head of State made his remarks at the event.
Namig Abdullayev, Mammad Eyvazov, Rahman Hatamov and Jeyhun Mammadov were presented with diplomas honoring them the title of "honored worker of physical culture and sport" in accordance with the President Ailyev`s order. They were awarded for their contribution to development of sports in the country.
Personal pensions of the President of the Republic of Azerbaijan were presented to Yashar Allahverdiyev, Fikret Sedeyifzade and Ramiz Yusifov for contribution to development of sports in the country.
The Azerbaijani president's order on awarding Azerbaijani President`s special Olympic stipend to Olympic champions Valeriy Belenkiy, Togrul Asgarov and Sharif Sharifov was read out.
Aliyev presented the NOC Olympic order to Togrul Asgarov and Sharif Sharifov.
NOC President's honorary diploma was given to Eldar Gazibeyov, Zaur Pashayev and Sadig Heydarov for their contribution to development of non-Olympic sports in Azerbaijan.
Then, President Ilham Aliyev handed over authorizations to occupy flats to a group of athletes and sport figures who gained successes at various international competitions and made a contribution to development of sports in the country.
Member of the NOC Executive Committee, chairman of the Azerbaijani society Kitab Zarifa Salahova presented a bás-relief of great leader Heydar Aliyev created by famous medal maker Ivan Kopitkin to President Aliyev.
President Ilham Aliyev congratulated athletes and wished them every success.
