Honored journalist Tofiqakhanim Gasimova passes away
Honored journalist Tofiqakhanim Gasimova (Nurani) has passed away, her relatives reported.
Gasimova died last night after battling an oncological illness for several years. She was 56 years old.
Born in 1970, Gasimova graduated from secondary school with a gold medal before completing her studies at Azerbaijan Medical University with honors.
She subsequently pursued a career in journalism and was recognized for her contributions to the Azerbaijani media sector. Gasimova was awarded the Hasan bey Zardabi Prize and other media awards for her journalistic work.
In 2020, she was awarded the honorary title of "Honored Journalist" for her services to journalism.
Her death is a loss to Azerbaijan's media community.
