Russia’s south Caucasus republic of Dagestan is setting up temporary accommodation center (TAC) for 213 Azerbaijani citizens who cannot return to their country due the COVID-19 lockdown, Russian media reported on May 11.
The temporary accommodation center (TAC) will be deployed in Magaramkent region in south of Dagestan bordering Azerbaijan, the Dagestan Communications Ministry has reported.
The decision to deploy the temporary accommodation points was taken following Dagestani head Vladimir Vasilyev's appeal to the task force for prevention of entry and spread of COVID-19 in the territory of Russia and to assist foreign nationals amidst pandemic.
According to the information, work is currently underway to install the center, which can accommodate more than 200 people.
Earlier it was reported that 700 Azerbaijani citizens are stranded in Dagestan waiting their return to Azerbaijan.
