A living history festival of sculptures has been held at an open-air exhibition center in the Old City of Baku.

Held with financial support of the Youth Fund under the president of Azerbaijan, the exhibition has presented the busts of Azerbaijani and world historical figures.

The project, headed by Islam Gasanalizade, aims to encourage the development of fine art and sculpture, to find talented young sculptors, as well as to strengthen the links between them and the professional artists and sculptors.

The project coordinator Ismayil Ismayilov has provided detailed information about the project at the event.

The event was inaugurated in a ceremony attended by members of the jury, artist sculptor Omar Eldarov, artist and art critic Ziyadkhan Aliyev, and sculptor Natig Aliyev.

During their speeches, the participants noted that there are young talented sculptors in Azerbaijan. They also wished this event could turn into a traditional festival in the country.

The exhibited works were created with high professionalism. Twenty busts of the great historical figures created by 17 young sculptors in a month have been picked up for displaying at the exhibition.

The busts of Babak, Vagif, Sattar Bahlulzade, Togrul Narimanbekov, Albert Einstein, Mahatma Gandhi, Leo Tolstoy and other famous persons have been put on display at the exhibition.

Sculptor Vugar Imamguliyev, the creator of the bust of national hero Mubariz Ibrahimov, became the winner of the competition. The busts of artist Khalil Rza Uluturk by Kamran Asadov, and artist Togrul Narimanbekov by Suleyman Rustamov were selected as the best sculptors in the exhibition.
