The three act opera by Giacomo Puccini Toska revolves around the battle between higher ideals and desires, the new and the old, and true love and true hate. It was premiered in Rome on January 1900 but more than one hundred years on, it still attracts public attention.
The opera is a complicated work, with arias, recitative, choruses and other musical elements woven delicately together. The dramatic force of "Tosca" continues to fascinate both actors and audiences. It is still among one of the most frequently performed operas across the globe.
