An autograph session of Azerbaijani writer Varis Yolchuyev was held in Baku

The meeting with the fans was held in a very warm and friendly atmosphere, the writer answered numerous questions and signed the books.

"I try to make every novel completely different from the previous one,” the writer said.

"We live in the third millennium. Information technology has fully occupied our life. A modern reader, who is dependent on the Internet and a mobile phone, avoids extensive artistic descriptions, deepening in feelings and psychology, instructive teachings. He wants breathtaking dynamics, adrenaline, more information. At the same time he needs enlightenment. It is not by chance that modern fiction has become a kind of synthesis of artistic narration with journalism. A modern writer does not have the moral right to create works that have no useful content for the reader, which do not carry a function other than entertaining...," he added.

Varis Yolchuyev was born on June 7, 1966 in Sumgayit. He is a chief editor of "Azerbaijan TV and Radio". Yolchuyev studied philology at the Baku State University.

He is a member of the Azerbaijan Union of Writers, the Russian Union of Writers and the International Union of Writers, co-chairman of the Literary Council of the Assembly of Peoples of Eurasia.

Varis Yolchuyev is an author of fifteen books that have been published in Azerbaijan, Russia, Turkey, Uzbekistan and Canada.

He is the winner of national and foreign awards, including the Golden Word Prize, the Moscow International Literary Award, Adam Mitskevich Medal (established by UNESCO), etc.

His works "Hope dies last", "Fistful of the Earth" and "Last Letter" are bestsellers. The works "I Believe in You" and "A Fistful of the Earth" have been filmed.

In November 2018, Varis Yelchiyev won the 2015-2109 London International Literary Prize. The work "The Fallen Angel" was awarded in the nomination "Big Prose, Small Prose, Journalism - the Charles Dickens Prize." In December 2018, he was awarded the literary prize "Writer of the Year" according to "The Russian Bell" magazine.
