The government of Azerbaijan may prolong the moratorium imposed on business inspection.

The issue was on agenda during the meeting between representatives of CBA (Central Bank of Azerbaijan), Presidential Administration, ADA University, Centre for Analysis of Economic Reforms and Communications with entrepreneurs of the Aran economic district.

The inspection of entrepreneurs' activities in Azerbaijan has been suspended for the period of two years from November 1, 2015. The exceptions from the law include check-ups which are held by State Commission to Combat Corruption under Prosecutor General’s Office as well as cases which endanger health or life, pose hazards to the state security or economic interests.

The state structures of Azerbaijan have conducted as many as 49 business inspections from November 2015 to March 2016 as compared to 33,300 checks in the same period of 2014-2015.

The suspension of inspections is considered to be an important step for the stimulation of the business development in the country.

The main objective of the decision which was taken with the view of further boost of entrepreneurial activity is creating favorable conditions for business and encouraging people to get engaged in entrepreneurial activities.

Participants of the meeting have also discussed the issues of broadening financial services, wide use of simplified tax systems in regions, decrease of tax burdens, increase of efficiency, improvement of the statistical and accounting operations, staff training in the sphere of agriculture and increase of financial literacy.
