Azerbaijan has started exporting to India coke produced at the Heydar Aliyev Refinery of the State Oil Company, ADY Express has reported.

ADY Express, a subsidiary of Azerbaijan Railways, continues to transport cargoes to the Georgian Poti port.

The coke, loaded into semi-wagons at Keshla station, is transported to the port of Poti, where it is loaded on ships and delivered to the destination country by sea.

Initially, 25,000 tons of coke were transported to India from the beginning of 2021 till February 5. The last batch of 1,000 tons has already been shipped.

Moreover, another 25,000 tons of coke is planned to be transported this month.

The supply of wagons is provided by Azerbaijan Railways CJSC and ADY Express LLC.

It should be noted that ADY Express transported 27,000 of coke to the port of Poti in November-December 2020, which was transported to China.

ADY Express LLC has been set up considering Azerbaijan’s role as a major transit country due to high demand for railway freight services. The company provides online services to forwarders and large cargo owners to attract and increase the volume of transit cargo passing through the country.
