Azerbaijan needs to encourage women’s interest in farming, Deputy Minister of Youth and Sports Farhad Hajiyev said.

Speaking at the presentation of the AMAL project (“Agriculture Employment Enhancement Project”) in Baku, the deputy minister noted that this issue is of fundamental importance.

“It is necessary to create all conditions for the number of women farmers in Azerbaijan to increase annually,” Hajiyev added.

Speaking about the AMAL project, the deputy minister noted that the project will help to attract a large percentage of young people to the agriculture sphere.

Hajiyev noted that the project will contribute to strengthening the youth policy and its optimal implementation.

At the same time, the project will contribute to the disclosure of the innovative potential of young people, the formation of new personnel in the field of agriculture and to the rational use of information and communication technologies in the future, he said.

“In my opinion, it is necessary to conduct educational work among young people and, by the way, we have a youth state program in our country, and it would be advisable for all departmental structures to be involved in implementing all the requirements envisaged in the document in an integrated manner,” he noted. “In turn, we are ready to assist in organizing and holding meetings in the districts with representatives of young people for education and encouragement in order to attract them to the agriculture sphere.”
