Shell Company revealed the unbearable dire economic situation in Armenia by opening filling stations in the country. State-run and private mass media exaggerated and presented it as an extraordinary event. Frankly speaking, it is an ordinary business occurrence happening throughout the world on daily bases, but standing in front of the thickets of microphones, all pro-government, and opposition, embellished it and presented it overexaggeratedly as an extraordinary event. Following Armenian mass media, some could conclude that it is not an ordinary business deal but a national holiday.

Even the Armenian Economy Minister Vahab Kerobian enthusiastically prepared and delivered an opening speech, and emphasized that it is not just a filling station, but a new culture. Considering the Minister’s speech, some can conclude that Armenia had neither vehicles nor filling stations prior to Shell, and thanks to the company Armenians would be familiar with the one-century-old culture.

Touching on the issue, an Armenian journalist Eric Hacopian who organizes propagandist programs in Civilnet exaggerated the issue and tried to bamboozle the audience by introducing it as something strategic. Ostensibly, Western companies are entering Armenia and they will be some kind of guarantor of the country. First and foremost, we would like to recall the propagandist that Shell Company has found neither oil resources, nor constructed a refinery in Armenia. Even the gasoline and diesel which will be sold in the said filling stations will be imported from Greece. In other words, it is some kind of retail chain.

Secondly, keeping the irrational and inadequate behavior of Armenian politicians in mind, Azerbaijan would have been happy if global transnational companies were interested in the failed state in the South Caucasus. Because, for protecting their own interests, these companies would force Hay politicians to give up their expansionist attitude and to find a common language with their neighbors. In this case, fearing to lose his/her well-being, even an ordinary Armenian citizen could pressure on the politicians to stop territorial claims against neighboring countries. However, the real situation is that while the territorial claim is the main reason for the ongoing economic crisis in the country, it is the main tool manipulated by Armenian politicians on behalf of Armenians living in poverty.

Armenia is such a miserable country that it cannot be compared with Greece or its northern neighbor Georgia. In fact, if Armenia has even a little competence, it can take an example from both countries.

As is known, Greece is not rich in natural resources such as oil and natural gas.Despite having some political disagreements with its neighbors Turkiye and North Macedonia, it tries to solve the issues with negotiations, instead of military confrontation. Due to its rational policy, Greece imports oil, refines it, and re-exports.

As for Georgia, thanks to its amiable relations with its neighbors, it has turned into a transit country. If there was a single sane person in Armenia, there would be at least lukewarm relations between Yerevan and Baku today. And maybe today, Armenia would not be a country of the poor, but would resemble wise countries like Georgia and Greece that could find a way out of difficult conditions.

Today, the speech of the minister of economy of so-called Armenia at the opening of an ordinary gas station, describes the deplorable situation in the country. However, no matter how many times their heads hit the stone, their minds still do not come to their senses. It is indeed a shameful scene; you can be a close neighbor to an oil and gas country, but you can't benefit from it...what a misery.

With this move, Armenia will celebrate the coming of summer after every winter, and even the blowing of the wind. As long as this society is led by such politicians, people will celebrate such holidays a lot. Even together with the ministers, Nikol himself will make speeches in front of the guests who bring 'obsolete innovations' to the country every time...
