One-hundred-sixty 5 and 6-star hotels under construction in Iran

According to Iranian officials, about 160 four and five-star
hotels are being built in Iran.
"Three are 1,700 tourism projects underway in Iran, over the third
of which made at least 60 percent progress. Of these, 160 projects
comprise of four and five-star hotels," Said Owhadi, deputy head of
the Cultural Heritage, Handicraft, and Tourism Department for
investment told a press conference, Trend correspondent reported
from the event December 10.
According to the official in the current fiscal year (which started March 21), 3 trillion rials (the USD at about 42,000 rials) out of the National Development Fund was given to the development of tourism infrastructure.
He added that another 2 trillion rials is going to be allocated
to these projects by the coming March.
He further noted that for the next fiscal year, 10 trillion rials
is going to be allocated to the development of tourism projects in
the country.
According to Owhadi, while up to the year 2013 some 2,700 tourism projects had been inaugurated in Iran, over the past four years alone 1,400 more projects were added to them.
He further noted that while up to 2013 about 45 percent of tourism projects fell in the hoteling section, in the later years the percentage improved to 65.
