Gazprom fulfills all obligations under deal with BOTAS

Gazprom executes all its contractual obligations on supplying gas under the deal with Turkish state-owned energy company Botas, Alexander Medvedev, deputy chairman of Gazprom's management committee told RIA Novosti on April 13.

The situation with Botas is special, said Medvedev answering to the question about the trial on price revision.

The relations between two countries worsened after the shoot-down of Su-24 plane, although all gas deliveries from Russia to Turkey are continued according to the contract, he added.

The deputy chairman hopes that the negotiations on price will be resumed. In fact, Gazprom has a counter claim against Botas in the court to increase price from January 1, 2016. Thus, there is a double-edged situation.

In its report for 2015, Gazprom announced that the companies which asked for price revision are German Uniper and French Engie, Turkish Botas, Shell Energy Europe Ltd, Danish DONG Naturgas A / S (hearing will be held in October-November 2016), Polish PGNIC (verdict shall be made no later than August 2017).

Earlier Gazprom reported that the company managed to agree on the setting price with Uniper and Engie.

Turkey receives gas from Russia via two routes. Gas companies receive Russian gas via Trans-Balkan pipeline, and Botas via Blue Stream.

In addition, the construction of the Turkish Stream was put on hold last December after Russian-Turkish relations deteriorated. Russia planned to sell gas to Europe via the Turkish Stream.
