The members of a criminal group suspected of links to the Iranian Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) and planning attacks in the Azerbaijani capital Baku during the 2012 Eurovision song contest have been sentenced, the Baku Court of Grave Crimes said Monday, according to Trend news agency.

The verdict was pronounced to Kamal Yagubov, Rashad Shahbazov, Rajab Abbasov and Afig Allahverdiyev.

Yagubov was sentenced to 14 years in prison, while Shahbazov - to 13.5 years, and Abbasov and Allahverdiyev to 12 years each.

Azerbaijani National Security Ministry detained an armed criminal group of 40 people after carrying out special operations in Baku, Sumgayit, Ganja, and in the Gakh, Zagatala, Sheki and Guba regions.
