A huge pedestrian bridge is being built in Baku, Spokesman of Azerbaijan Highways state agency, Anar Najafli, told Trend.

He said that the bridge is being built as part of the second stage of a project on construction of new roads in the surrounding area of Fuzuli Square in Yasamal district of Baku, gardening and landscaping work, transfer of communication lines, as well as the reconstruction of road infrastructure around the Tazapir mosque complex, land improvement and work on creating parking opportunities for those visiting the mosque.

“At this stage, an underground parking for 338 cars with an area of 11,631 square meters, a pedestrian bridge with a length of 112 meters and a width of 52 meters across Fuzuli and Mirza Aga Aliyev streets, a park with an area of 11,650 square meters are planned to be constructed and a 8-hectares area will be planted,” said Najafli.

Fifty percent of the work on construction of the parking lot has been completed, the construction of pedestals of the pedestrian bridge has also been completed, he added.
