Two new KISS two-storey trains have been delivered to Baku, and now the country has five such trains.

The trains were produced at Stadler Minsk plant of the Swiss Stadler Rail Group company. They will join another three KISS trains which Azerbaijan purchased last year – in May and August 2015. The trains were bought as a result of Azerbaijan Railways and Stadler Rail Group’s mutual negotiations on upgrading the railway infrastructure of Azerbaijan.

Previous three trains are used on the Baku-Sumgayit-Baku railway line from September 12, 2015. The KISS trains move with far less noise than ordinary trains.

A trip between the cities on the new trains lasts for around 40 minutes. Trains, consisting of four wagons, are designed for 919 passengers. They are equipped with 396 seats, 84 of which are of business class category.

Overall, the Stadler Rail Group trains carry about three thousand people a day. Passengers use travel cards to pay their travel fare.
