Meta launches smart glasses with vision correction
by Alimat Aliyeva
Meta has introduced two new models of Ray-Ban smart glasses — Blayzer and Scriber — designed specifically for users with visual impairments, AzerNEWS reports.
The glasses feature adjustable temples, interchangeable nose pads, and reinforced hinges, allowing for a precise, personalized fit. The main innovation is enhanced vision correction: prescription lenses up to ±6 diopters can now be installed.
They retain all the features of previous models, including a built-in camera, microphone, speakers, and integration with Meta AI. Among the new features is an AI-powered food diary: users can take photos of their meals, and the system will automatically identify the food and calculate calories. The glasses also support WhatsApp voice messages, making hands-free communication easier than ever.
Interestingly, the glasses can now describe the surrounding environment and read text in real time, acting as a true assistant for daily life, not just a gadget.
The new models will go on sale starting April 14, with prices starting at $499, making them more accessible than previous versions.
