Month of Francophonie due in Baku

Baku will host the Month of Francophonie in April to celebrate French language and cultural diversity with a series of cultural events involving music, literature, film and history along with debates and contests.

Famous writers, members of the international organization of French-speaking countries and other public figures will gather in Baku to inform about cultures of Francophone countries, Trend Life reported.

All of the cultural creativity and diversity of francophone countries will be celebrated over a month of events.

Besides, the French Gastronomy Week will be held in the capital city in mid-March.

Overall, the days of French language and culture are annual spring event in Azerbaijan that brings French-speaking people together.

The International Organisation of La Francophonie was created in 1970. Its mission is to embody the active solidarity between its 80 member states and governments (57 members and 23 observers), which together represent over one-third of the United Nations’ member states and account for a population of over 890 million people, including 220 million French speakers.
