Diaspora TV channel broadcasted via Azerspace

Azerbaijan's Space Agency Azercosmos signed a contract with Turkish company to broadcast the Azerbaijani public television CanaZ TV (Can Azerbaycan Televizyonu) via Azerbaijan's first satellite Azerspace-1, the agency said.

Under the contract, the channel will start broadcasting since October 1.

CanaZ TV, created by the Azerbaijani Diaspora in Turkey, started its broadcasting from February 2010. The channel broadcasts programs about Azerbaijanis in Turkey, contributes to the preservation, dissemination and development of national culture abroad. The air of the channel consists of news, Azerbaijani films, music and entertainment.

Currently, Azerspace-1 broadcasts over 120 TV and Radio channels.

Azerspace-1 telecommunication satellite launched in February 2013 covers Eastern Europe, the Caucasus, Central Asia and North Africa.

The satellite was originally designed to offer digital broadcasting services, internet access, and data transmission. It has also set up multiservice VSAT networks and offered governmental communication services.

Azerspace is broadcasting over 80 TV and radio channels including Georgian, Turkish, Ukrainian, and South African TV channels. The TV is available when satellite antennas configured with 11,169 MHz frequency, 20,400 speed, Horizontal and FEC - 5/6 polarization.

Some 80 percent of the satellite's resources are available for commercial purposes. The second satellite is scheduled to be launched in 2017.
