Ahmadinejad invites Aliyev to attend NAM summit

Iranian President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad has invited his Azerbaijani counterpart Ilham Aliyev to attend a summit of the Non-Aligned Movement (NAM) in Iran.
Iranian Education Minister Hamid Reza Haji Babai, who begins his visit to Azerbaijan on Wednesday, according to the Iranian embassy in Baku, is expected to hand over Ahmadinejad`s letter of invitation to President Aliyev.
Established by 25 countries in 1961, the NAM is an organization of countries based on the principles of non-participation in military blocs. It includes 118 states, while 20 more countries have observer status. Azerbaijan became a NAM member in May 2011.
