Special welcome in World Tourism day

Number of events were held in a connection with the World Tourism Day by the State Tourism Agency, on 27 September.
State Agency told Azertag that tourists, who came to Azerbaijan for the first time, were warmly welcomed at the airport. At the border checkpoint, every tourist arriving in the country was treated with national sweets.
In addition, Baku City Tour buses, which made trips to tourist destinations in Baku during the day, offered a discount of 50 percent in fare. The “Yanardag” and “Ateshgah Temple” state reserves were operating free of charge.
Along with the exhibition of national art samples and demonstration of master classes in the Fountain Square, a live concert was also held in the evening. Exhibition of artists will last for four days.
The next big event to be organized by the State Tourism Agency will take place at the Baku Congress Center. Thus, the National Tourism Summit will be held on October 18. The presentation of the new national tourism brand of Azerbaijan will be held within the framework of the summit.
Since 1980, World Tourism Day is commemorated each year on September 27. Its purpose is to foster awareness among the international community of the importance of tourism and its social, cultural, political and economic value.
