Details of Azerbaijani, Russian FMs' meeting revealed - UPDATE
The details of meeting between Azerbaijan’s Foreign Minister Elmar Mammadyarov and his Russian counterpart Sergey Lavrov have been revealed.
Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov will visit Azerbaijan in early April, a diplomatic source told Trend.
Earlier, a source in the Russian Foreign Ministry said that the meeting of the ministers will be held in Moscow.
During the meeting with his Russian counterpart Sergey Lavrov, Mammadyarov will discuss the settlement of the Armenian-Azerbaijani Nagorno-Karabakh conflict, according to the source.
Implementation of the North-South project is also on the agenda of discussions.
“We will discuss the development of bilateral cooperation, in particular, the settlement of the Armenian-Azerbaijani conflict,” Mammadyarov said on the eve of the meeting in an interview with Kommersant newspaper on March 18.
“Meanwhile, we plan to focus on prospects of the North-South transport corridor - the idea of railways’ connection of the Northern European countries, Russia, Azerbaijan, Iran and further Pakistan and India.”
