Baku attaches great importance to ties with Beijing

Deputy Chairman-Executive Secretary of the New Azerbaijan Party (YAP), Deputy Prime Minister Ali Ahmadov has met Vice Chairman of Chinese People's Association for Peace and Disarmament Ma Biao.
Ahmadov said a visit of the Chinese delegation to Azerbaijan would contribute to developing relations between the two countries.
He said Azerbaijan attached great importance to the expansion of ties with China, noting that that friendly relation between the New Azerbaijan Party and the Communist Party of China contributed to strengthening cooperation between the two countries.
"Relations between the ruling parties will continue to play an important role in developing the Azerbaijani-Chinese ties," he added.
Ma Biao, in turn, said reciprocal visits and bilateral meetings created opportunities for the further deepening of the relations.
He noted Azerbaijan and China were reliable partners and friends, adding that political, economic and cultural ties between the two countries had been developing.
China was one of the first countries to recognize Azerbaijan's independence, and the two countries are permanently support each other on international organizations.
China is one of the major export partners of Azerbaijan.
