Baku hosts regular meeting of UIAA commission
Baku has hosted next meeting of the Mountain Protection Commission of the International Mountaineering and Climbing Federation (UIAA).
The meeting was co-organized by the Azerbaijan Air and Extreme Sports Federation (FAIREX) and the Western University, AzerTag news agency reported.
The event was attended by UIAA Vice-President Peter Farkas, president of the UIAA Mountain Protection Commission Linda McMillan, UIAA Projects Manager Sophie Gerard, as well as members of commission of different countries.
Baku hosted the UIAA meeting on "The valuable role of mountaineering and climbing sports for developing sustainable tourism in mountainous regions of the world such as Caucasus" on October 24-25, 2013. The last meeting was organized by the IDEA, the Western University and FAIREX.
