Azerbaijan hosting ice climbing championship

Covered by snow, Azerbaijan hosted the ice climbing championship on its frozen waterfalls.
The competition co-organized by the Youth and Sport Ministry and Air and Extreme Sports Federation of Azerbaijan (FAIREX) was held in Gusar region on February 1-2.
The final stage of the competition will be held on February 8-9.
Despite the frosty weather, the participants demonstrated their will, determination, talents and skills to win.
The competition held based on standards of International Federations was attended by athletes from "Climb-club", "Rock Stone", "EXTRALIFE", West University Sports Club, "AMEAST ", "Genclik", Economic University Sports Club, National Aviation University, "Salavat "," Qusar", "Zirve", "Extreme".
Holding such international sports championships has became a tradition in Azerbaijan with the number of participants being on the rise in recent years. These championships help to growth athletes and develop these sports in the country.
